Fabric Yield Recommendations
Recommended Fabric + Supplies
Fabric
The Paint Dress + Top is designed for light - medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, cotton, rayon/viscose and silk.
Interfacing
Interfacing is optional for the cuff pieces, if you are sewing the full length sleeve you may need around 30cm. Select a woven interfacing in a weight appropriate for the fabric you are using.
Thread
You will need at least one spool of thread for straight stitching, and 4 additional threads if you choose to overlock/serge the exposed interior seams.
Buttons
You will need 1x 12mm button for the back neck closure. If you are sewing the full length sleeve option you will need an additional 2x 12mm buttons for the button cuffs.
Elastic
You will need between 0.65 - 0.9m of a 25mm width elastic depending on the size you are sewing.
Bias Binding
You will need 1cm (3/8") Bias Binding for the neckline. Please see bias binding chart for the amount of bias binding you will need.
Tools
The Paint Dress + Top can be completed with a regular domestic sewing machine, with zig zag stitch capability and buttonhole function. If desired, you can #nish/neaten interior exposed seams with an overlocker/serger.
You will also require an iron, a point turner, a sharp pair of sewing scissors and pins.
