Recommended Fabric + Supplies

Fabric
The Sparrow Shirt is designed for light - medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, cotton lawn or poplin, silk satins and crepe de chines. We love how this pattern looks and feels in our Vintage Finish and Gingham Linens. For a pop of colour, you could also try a Liberty print!

Interfacing
Fusible interfacing for select pieces on the shirt is optional, and can help to provide stability for lighter weight fabrics. If using interfacing you will require up to 0.7m, depending on the size you choose.

Thread
You will need at least one spool of thread for straight stitching, and 4 additional threads if you choose to overlock or serge the exposed interior seams.

Buttons
You will need 5 x 12mm buttons for the shirt.

Tools
The Sparrow Shirt can be completed with a regular domestic sewing machine, with zig zag stitch capability and buttonhole function. If desired, you can finish/neaten interior exposed seams with an overlocker/serger.
You will also require an iron, a point turner, a sharp pair of sewing scissors and pins.
