Fabric Yield Recommendations

Recommended Fabric + Supplies

Fabric
The Cloud Sweatshirt is designed for medium to heavy weight knit fabrics. We recommend cotton sweatshirting, medium weight jersey, ponte knits or medium to heavy weight merino jersey. If you are sewing View A or View B you will need rib trim for the neckband, cuffs and hem.

Drawstring
For the Sweater View B— Hoodie, you will need 10mm wide tape or cord for the drawstring. 1.5m is required for this pattern.

Interfacing
If you are sewing the Sweater View B— Hoodie, adding a small piece of lightweight knit interfacing (fusing) on the hood where the buttonholes are located is optional and can help to add stability.

Thread
You will need at least one spool of thread if using a regular domestic sewing machine, and 4 additional threads if overlocking or serging. Note that if finishing with a coverseam or the twin needle setting on your sewing machine, you may need additional threads.

Tools
For maximum longevity we highly recommend sewing your Cloud Sweatshirt using an overlocker/ serger. They can also be completed with a regular domestic sewing machine with zigzag stitch capability. A sewing machine with buttonhole function and a twin needle setting is also needed. You will also require an iron, a sharp pair of sewing scissors, tailor’s chalk or fabric pen and a bodkin or safety pin.
