It's been a longtime dream of our team to create our own home sewing patterns and we are SO excited to be finally developing our very own range. Make by TFS has evolved from our desire to encourage as many people as possible to sew their own clothing slowly, a natural extension of our sustainable and ethical business values and our design-driven philosophy. Our patterns are created end-to-end by our small Auckland-based team and are all available as PDF downloads from our Online Store, as well as selected patterns in both paper format in store and online.

Leo is a modern casual blazer pattern with a simple silhouette, the perfect balance of practicality and style! This pattern is partially lined with a two-button front closure, classic notched collar and lapel, a soft casual shoulder line, long sleeves and generous front patch pockets. Note, this is not a close fitting style. Body and sleeve hem lengths can be easily adjusted using the indication lines provided on the pattern. Leo would make the perfect blazer addition to any sewists wardrobe and is a garment designed to last you a lifetime. Leo is a versatile blazer style, ideal for layering up over light sweaters and shirts, and designed to pair with our Cass Pant for the ultimate relaxed-fitting suit.

The May Jean is classic high waist jean pattern set, featuring a zip fly closure, high rise fit and five pocket construction - an ideal wardrobe staple! May comes with three leg cuts - View A - Straight Leg, View B - Wide Leg and View C - Shaped Leg. The leg hem finishes at the ankle bone and the length can be easily adjusted using the indication lines provided on the pattern. The May Jean pairs seamlessly with our Make by TFS patterns, including the Fog Tee, Bloom Shirt, Ivy Top and Cloud Sweatshirt. #TFSMay

The Cloud Set of patterns offers a modern alternative for lounge and everyday essentials, perfect for advanced beginner sewists with just a little sewing experience. Our Cloud Set features the full bundle of Cloud patterns — the Cloud Sweatshirt and Cloud Sweatpant. An ultra-cosy matching tracksuit combo, the Cloud Set will be your new everyday go-to! The Cloud Sweatshirt is a simple oversized sweatshirt pattern, perfect for everyday wear and designed to pair with our Make by TFS Cloud Sweatpant for the cosiest set imaginable!

The Cloud Sweatshirt features a casual straight fit through the body with a dropped shoulder and three neckline options. View A is a classic Crew with a ribbed neckband, View B features a cosy oversized Hood, and View C has a high cut Funnel Neck. The Cloud Sweatshirt Crew Neck and Hoodie have a classic ribbed cuff and hem. The Funnel Neck Sweatshirt has a simple fold-back finish. The Cloud Sweatpant is a go-to wardrobe staple pant pattern and is designed to pair with our Cloud Sweatshirt for ultimate comfort! The Sweatpant is a casual relaxed fit pant with side seam pockets and an elastic waistband with drawstring. The Cloud Sweatpant features two different views - View A has a Tapered Leg with an ankle cuff and View B has a relaxed Wide Leg.

The Sparrow Set of patterns offers a modern alternative for lounge and everyday essentials, perfect for beginner sewists with just a little sewing experience! Our Sparrow Set features the full bundle of Sparrow patterns — the Sparrow Shirt and the Sparrow Pant + Short, and these patterns can be purchased separately too. A dreamy balance of simplicity, clean lines and unrestrictive comfort, the Sparrow Set is perfect for wearing in bed or out! Sparrow also makes a delightful match with our Make by TFS Lucie Robe, for ultimate luxurious loungewear vibes.

The Sparrow Shirt features a wide boxy cut with a relaxed shoulder, single front patch-pocket, turned down collar and ¾ popover button placket. The pattern also offers a sleeve length/shorten indication line, if you wish to customise. This pattern would be simple to hack into a dress too, by simply extending the hem! The Sparrow Pant + Short features a wide straight fit through the leg, with a simple elasticated waist, drawstring, and in-seam pockets. The pattern also offers a shorts indication line, if you want to make a pair up for warmer weather.

The Poppy Coat is a modern oversized coat with an enveloping silhouette and exaggerated detailing, the perfect balance of practicality and style! This pattern is fully lined with a single front button closure, playful curved collar and notch lapel, long sleeves and generous front welt pockets. Two views provide alternative length options, with View A offered in full length and View B in mid length. Body and sleeve hem lengths can be easily adjusted using the indication lines provided on the pattern.

With generous ease throughout the body, Poppy is ideal for layering up over sweaters and jackets to shield you from the elements in cool weather. The Ivy Dress + Top is an everyday staple - a modern dress + top pattern with options galore!

The Dress (View A) features a boxy straight-fit through the bodice with a dropped waist and a generous gathered full skirt, in-seam pockets, and a deep turned-back hem. The Top (View B) features a fully faced peplum-style hem. Both views have a centre back neck opening and three collar options are provided, including a Peter Pan Collar, fully faced Round Neck, or a Tie Back Collar. Your Ivy Dress + Top can be made sleeveless, with a short sleeve (using the indication lines provided), or with a full-length sleeve gathered at the wrist. If you choose to make the full-length gathered sleeve, you have the option of a button tab cuff or a tie cuff.

Our Teddy Dress is a playful every-day knit dress pattern, designed to suit a variety of knit fabrics for all seasons, including our ZQ Premium Merino jersey. It features a wide straight oversized fit in the bodice with a dropped shoulder, in-seam pockets and a generously gathered skirt. The skirt has subtle paneling to allow for maximised fabric yield. The hem sits just below the knees and can be made up sleeveless or with long slim sleeves.

Mabel is a simple every-day knit dress pattern, designed to suit a variety of knit fabrics for all seasons, including our ZQ Premium Merino jersey. It features a casual straight fit in the bust and shoulder through to a subtle A-line swing in the body, with in-seam pockets. The hem and sleeves are provided at full length with shorten/lengthening options.

Meet the Bloom Shirt + Dress! A modern take on a classic button-down shirt, with a shirt and dress view, as well as three collar options, and is designed to compliment your existing wardrobe. It features a casual a-line shape with a subtle swing through the body, a back yoke, front button placket and patch pocket, collar and stand, and long sleeves with button cuffs and placket. The Dress view also features side seam pockets and a deep hem. There are three collar options, which can be matched to both the shirt and dress views. Collar option 1 is a classic pointed collar and stand. Collar option 2 is a half penny collar and stand. Collar option 3 is an exaggerated box pleated collar with a narrow stand. The pattern also offers a sleeve length shorting indication line, if you wish to customise for each season!

The Cass Pant is a modern take on a classic pleat front trouser and is designed to compliment your existing wardrobe. This style of trouser pairs nicely with merino tops and button-down shirts. It features a casual mid-rise, zip fly front with internal button tab closure, belt loops, side angled pockets, two rear jet pockets, and a wide leg with a subtle taper and deep hem at the ankle. Cass comes as a single view, and you can lengthen or shorten the leg as you wish!

The August Skirt is a classic pleat skirt and is designed to compliment your existing wardrobe. This style of skirt pairs well with merino tops and button-down shirts. It features a voluminous a-line skirt with waistband at mid-waist, side pockets, centre back invisible zip and button closure and a deep turned back hem. August comes with a single view, and you may lengthen or shorten the hem as you wish.

The Fog Tee is a simple every-day knit top pattern, designed to compliment your existing wardrobe and easy to pair with our Make by TFS skirt and pant patterns. It features a casual straight fit through the body and slim sleeves, with two neckline views. View A features a high-cut boat neck and View B features a classic round crew neck. The Fog Tee pattern offers full, three-quarter and short sleeve length indications, if you wish to customise for each season!

Lucie is a modern, full-length, oversized robe with a generous front wrap and considered detailing. Lucie is our very first pattern and is a simple style, designed to lounge in at home, throw over swimwear at the beach, or pair with sandals in the summer as a wrap-style dress!

Lucie features a rectangular sleeve, elongated collar, turned-back hems, a removable waist tie, and side seam pockets. It is designed to finish between calf and ankle but can be easily shortened or lengthened if desired. Lucie comes in sizes A, B and C, please refer to the size chart online for details. The pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner sewist, with just a little sewing experience and sewing machine knowledge required!
