When purchasing from us, if your order is under €150 (~$250 NZD), tax will now be automatically collected at checkout (previously this was collected when your parcel entered Europe).
If your order is over €150, tax and customs duties will be payable when your parcel enters the EU instead. DHL will automatically pay money owed on a shipment on behalf of the receiver to Customs and they therefore charge a fee for the money they are lending and also the cost to collect the charge from the customer, this is called an Advance Payment Surcharge. DHL will contact you directly to collect any fees owing, you can read more about the fees here.
If you need help with your order please email email@example.com before you purchase and we will do our best to provide further information. Please note we cannot assist you after an order has already been placed.
Customs will generally base the value of your order on the price of the goods, plus the cost of the shipping. In some cases even if you have not paid for shipping (i.e free shipping offer used) customs may still include a charge for shipping in the value of your order. We do our best to provide correct information but unfortunately this is outside of our control and depends on your countries current customs policies.
